The exhibition Sámi Stories: Art and Identity of an Arctic People conveys stories about Sámi history, society and art in New York. The exhibition was produced in connection with the 200th anniversary of the Norwegian Constitution. For the first time, such a large exhibition and associated books on Sami art and identity will be presented to an American audience. Orkana academically has published the two volumes in collaboration with Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum and Tromsø Museum UiT Norway's Arctic University, which is behind the exhibition. Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum's part of the exhibition presents Sami history and society through a selection of works divided into three main themes: history, myth and religion and identity landscape. The themes are elaborated in the book from different perspectives through four articles: philosophy, art history, politics and artists as storytellers.
